Old Bucharest

Bucharest used to be called “Little Paris” in it’s glorious years. First mentioned in 1459, it became the capital of early Romanian state in 1862. Until WWII it continued to develop and grow in size and inhabitants. Unfortunately the communist regime destroyed much of it’s beautiful landmarkss.For more info about Bucharest you can check the Wikipedia article here.

Below you will find a photo gallery that will show you a different side of Romania’s capital city, a side that many don’t remember or think about. It’s made from old pictures, post cards, sketches, illustrations and other stuff. I’m sorry about the quality of the pictures but this is the best resolution I have. Just click on them to enlarge.
